Location:

Matty Eckler Recreation Centre, at the corner of Gerrard & Pape:

We are in the Assembly Hall, which is on the upper level. There is an elevator, and the whole Centre is barrier-free.

Driving Notes:

There is on-going construction on the Gardiner Expressway both east and west; traffic is light on Sundays, but is something worth noting.

Parking:

While parking is not available on site, there is ample parking at Gerrard Square shopping centre (which is fine with community centre patrons using the space too). They are located on the other side of the street, and there’s both surface parking and a parking garage behind the building. There is also street parking on Pape Avenue.

If anyone has mobility issues and might require special consideration, please let me know well in advance and we’ll see what accommodations can be made.

Load-in:

There is a small Loading Area off Gerrard Street, but people can also temporarily park on Pape Avenue nearer the doors. The elevator is opposite the main doors.

We will have a few carts available for people to assist with loading.

Food & Other Amenities:

There are many food options in and around Gerrard Square; mall opens 11am on Sunday. http://www.gerrardsquare.com/home/

Nearest Tim Horton’s is located on Gerrard Street to the right of the Mall Entrance; nearest 24hrs Tim Horton is on the corner of Lakeshore and Carlaw

McDonalds is directly across the street in the mall parking lot.

There is also a Pizza Pide joint directly across the centre on Pape.

The nearest Starbucks is on Gerrard on the corner of Jones Ave.

Gerrard Square’s Food Court also has:

- Subway

- KFC

- Tropical Joe’s

- El Grecco

- Asian Gourmet

- International Cuisine (asian)

- Apropo (espresso & pizza)

- Real Fruit Bubble Tea

For the more adventurous type, Little Chinatown is located on Gerrard between Logan and Broadview. (Bach Yen is a fast & reliable little Vietnamese shop just west of Howland). But please keep timing into account if you’re venturing far abroad J

Gerrard Square also houses a variety of shops - Walmart, Staples, Home Depot, Food Basics, Dollar Store, and a Toys R Us Express
